various music styles and concert styles
Music Design and Production
One Step Closer Final Jam 2025
Although I had designed the lights for many genres of music before, this was my first experience designing metal/rock. It was a very unique process, and learning how to design in this style, and to adapt to and work with inconsistent music and musicians was a great experience.
This piece was a very cool experience. Although it was not the only piece I designed with the drape in front of the stage, it was my only rock piece using the drape. I used it to amplify color and dimension.
Highway 95 Final Jam 2025
Although this piece was supposed to be designed by someone else, they did not meet the deadline for importing cues into the console. As the light board operator, I got the opportunity to busk the piece.
Busking this piece.
Although I had busked music before, up to this point it was music of artists whose work I knew, or had the opportunity to listen to the piece before it started. This piece was written by a DSA student, so I only knew the general idea of what it would sound like. This taught me how to design with no preparation time, ideas prior to the show, and no room for error.

Eagles Tribute Concert
My first time busking.
Before this, I had not only never busked a show, but also knew very little Eagles music. Although everyone always wants more time, having so little time to prepare taught me how to work on the fly while generating ideas in real time. This concert also taught me that simple designs can be just as effective as complex ones.
How I prepared
When I found out I was designing this show, I knew I needed to do as much as I could before the house opened to make the show as smooth as possible. I made various general presets that I could change song by song, and some specific presets for songs I knew or songs that were the artist favorites.
